Brock Lesnar vs Overeem

LAS VEGAS — Brock Lesnar took one last kick to his stomach and crumpled at the side of the cage, unable to fight back when Alistair Overeem pounced.

Lesnar had been finished by a 6-foot-5 Dutch kick boxer in the first round at UFC 141. A few minutes later, the UFC's former heavyweight champion finished his own meteoric mixed martial arts career.
Lesnar retired from the UFC after Overeem stopped him with one vicious kick to the body at 2:26 of the first round in their heavyweight bout Friday night, leaving the UFC heading into 2012 without its biggest pay-per-view star.
"This is the last time you'll see me in the octagon," Lesnar said.
Largely thanks to his fame from a career in pro wrestling, the hulking Lesnar (5-3) played a significant role in expanding the UFC's profile and fan base over the past four years. He beat Randy Couture in 2008 to win the heavyweight title, defending it twice before losing the belt to Cain Velasquez last year.
But Lesnar has fought just three times in the past 2 1/2 years while dealing with bouts of a lower-intestinal ailment that nearly killed him. Jon Bon Jovi dead ?

Jon Bon Jovi dead? No. Jon Bon Jovi is not dead. But that little tidbit of truth doesn't seem to matter. The false rumors about Bon Jovi's untimely demise gripped the country on Tuesday -- well, that and the Kardashian Christmas card -- so you might as well brush up on the details.

Bon Jovi is the latest celebrity victim of an Internet death hoax. It all started with a website called Daily News Blog International, which posted a story Monday claiming that the New Jersey rocker was dead. From there, the rumor spread like wildfire, pinging around the blogosphere and every social media network known to mankind.

Despite repeated attempts by Bon Jovi himself to put the rumors to rest, "Jon Bon Jovi dead" continued to be on fire among Google searches on Tuesday morning.

Perhaps the real news in this non-news story is that Bon Jovi might have a second career as a comedian if he decides to give up his day job.

Bon Jovi poked repeated fun at the rumor at a concert Monday night in New Jersey, referring to it several times and pretending to take frantic phone calls from friends who'd heard the news, the Star-Ledger reported.

Bon Jovi also responded to the rumor on Twitter and Facebook. On his Facbook page, he posted a picture of himself in front of a Christmas tree, holding a handmade sign that read: "Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey" and included Monday's date and the time. (Brace yourselves for the next rumor about how the sign was Photoshopped and that Bon Jovi really is dead, and it's all a conspiracy.)

Adding to the intrigue: It appeared that the fake report that Bon Jovi had died was copied in part from a 2009 Los Angeles Times story that announced the death of Michael Jackson.  The Times noted on Monday that it was looking into the matter but emphasized that the newspaper was not involved in the false report.

Death hoaxes and bum rumors are nothing new. (Remember Mark Twain's quip about reports of his death being greatly exaggerated?) Dalam penggambaran Laila Majnum, pengarah BS Rajhans dari India sedaya upaya ingin mengekalkan keaslian ceritanya sebagaimana ia amat popular di pentas- pentas bangsawan dengan mengekalkan lagu dan tarian padang pasir, juga menggunakan dialog bahasa Melayu Tinggi. Walaupun menghadapi kesukaran penghayatan oleh pelakon yang terpaksa menghafal skrip dan penyebutan yang betul Filem Laina Majnum yang siap pada 1933 mendapat sambutan yang amat menggalakan, tiket habis dijual selama seminggu di Singapura dan ditayangkan pula ke semenanjung yang juga mendapat sambutan yang amat baik dalam siri tayangan selama dua minggu. Antara pelakon yang membintangi filem ini adalah ; Pak Suki, Cik Tijah, Yem ,Sharif Medan, Fatimah Jasmin, Syed Ali Mansoor Al Attas dan Khairuddin.

 Filem Melayu yang diterbitkan oleh Syarikat Motilal Chemical dari Bombay ini adalah produk yang amat berharga tetapi sayangnya hari ini salinan filem Laila Majnum tidak ada dalam simpanan mana- mana pihak di negara ini dan mungkin filem asalnya juga sudah tidak wujud lagi. Apa yang boleh kita bandingkan adalah hanya Laila Majnum yang lebih moden yang diterbitkan oleh Malay Film dan Cathay Keris pada 1961.

Menonton ulangan International India Film Academy (IIFA) 2011 di TV2 yang diadakan di Toronto Kanada membuatkan kita rasa cemburu dan betapa jauhnya Industri Filem Bollywood berada berbanding dengan warga Filem di negara kita. Kita perlu akui bahawa dunia sudah mengenali dan mula dipengaruhi oleh budaya dari Bombay.. dari satu sudut ia adalah baik dan harus disokong oleh orang- orang sebelah timur ini kerana tanpa peralatan canggih dan kewangan yang besar berbanding Hollywood orang sebelah timur menjadi saingan kepada barat dan Hollywood tidak boleh merasakan mereka dominen dalam mempengaruhi dunia.

biarpun dalam banyak perkara Hollywood lebih bertenaga dengan agenda mempengaruhi politik dunia dan Yahudi kita masih bernasib baik dengan imbangan baru dari Bombay.

Rasanya industri filem kita sememangnya sentiasa bertekad untuk maju dan berusaha menembusi dunia tetapi pada masa yang sama negara lain seperti Korea dan Jepun pula semakin menambahkan bilangan negara yang lebih laju dari kita yang suatu zaman dulu berada di depan dalam kebanyakan negara Asia. kita masih tercari- cari semangat dan kehebatan produk dari Cathay Keris dan Shaw Brothers, Kita belum ada pengganti penerbit yang berkomitmen dan memberi kebebasan berkarya sebagaimana yang di beri oleh Run Run dan Runmie Shaw juga En Loke lebih membuat karyawan kita dalam kegelapan adalah gagalnya pewaris seni layar mengambil sesuatu daripada ilmu dan jiwa P.Ramlee lebih menduka cita lagi adalah sukarnya mencari aktor dan aktres sebenar yang mana mendahulukan kerjaya daripada glamor, gosip dan gaya mewah. 

Untuk menarik semula khalayak pembikin dan pemain filem agar kembali melihat realiti mereka jangan berangan dengan filem- filem besar dan belanja jutaan dolar dari barat.. mereka jangan malu untuk belajar apa yang dipersembahkan oleh Bollywood yang tak pernah padam semangatnya sejak dari permulaan dinasti Kappor dikenali.. tak perlu malu untuk belajar dari Bollywood kerana itulah budaya dan impian orang timur dan itu jugalah formula Jalan Ampas yang pernah meletakkan Malaya sebagai kilang perfileman yang disegani atas tunjuk ajar L.Krishnan dan Phani Majundar.

A giant sea monster, the likes of the mythological kraken, may have swum Earth's ancient oceans, snagging what was thought to be the sea's top predators — school bus-size ichthyosaurs with fearsome teeth.

The kraken, which would've been nearly 100 feet (30 meters) long, or twice the size of the colossal squid, Mesonychoteuthis, likely drowned or broke the necks of the ichthyosaurs before dragging the corpses to its lair, akin to an octopus's midden, according to study researcher Mark McMenamin, a paleontologist at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts.
