No one can ramble like Justin Bieber

Yeah, he performed his current hit “Boyfriend” in a very 1999 pop-music style that harkened to the boy-band days. But most weirdly notable was when he won the Billboard Music Award for Social Artist of the Year and literally gave the longest, most boring speech ever. First, he attempted to say something about how everyone had watched him grow up — this is very much his public narrative right now, how he’s so mature and all, à la Justin Timberlake post boy band — and then he told the crowd: “The internet is where I got my start.” Yes, and on the internet you were performing. Stick to that, please — no more speeches. 2012-billboard-music-awards/

Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg weds one day after IPO

Zuckerberg wed 27-year-old Priscilla Chan, his girlfriend of nearly a decade, according to a guest authorized to speak for the couple. The person spoke only on the condition of anonymity.
The couple married at his Palo Alto, Calif., home in front of fewer than 100 stunned guests who thought they would be attending a party to celebrate Chan's graduation from medical school.
Zuckerberg gave his new bride a ring he had designed with a "very simple ruby" to end an incredibly eventful week, according to the guest.
On Monday, Zuckerberg turned 28 and Chan graduated from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, where she'd studied pediatrics.
Then on Friday, Zuckerberg took his blue-and-white web behemoth public in one of the most anticipated stock offerings in Wall Street history.
The seemingly well-coordinated timing was largely a coincidence, the guest said. The wedding had been planned for months and the couple was waiting for Chan to finish medical school, but the date of the IPO was a "moving target" not known when the wedding was set. mark-zuckerberg-marries-girlfriend

Linda Evangelista cuts a child support deal with billionaire

NEW YORK — In the midst of a trial that brought tales of the high life and high fashion to family court, supermodel Linda Evangelista and a billionaire French businessman have reached an agreement to end their child support fight, their lawyers said Monday. Evangelista, Francois-Henri Pinault and their attorneys were mum about the details, which they planned to give to a magistrate on Tuesday. “Everybody is very glad that it’s over,” Pinault lawyer David Aronson said.
The settlement came in the midst of a trial over how much, if anything, Pinault should pay toward the care of their 5-year-old son. Pinault is the CEO of a company that owns Gucci, Yves St. Laurent and other top-flight fashion lines; he’s now married to actress Salma Hayek. Both Pinault and Evangelista had testified at the trial, answering questions that delved into her career, his high-flying finances and his limited relationship with the boy. Evangelista had been due to continue testifying Monday.
The two sides negotiated all weekend and into Monday morning, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. The person spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the private talks.963-421/linda-evangelista-
